ShContemporary 2007— 一个来自亚洲的艺术新试点。2007年的艺术界将迎来新的里程。

ShContemporary将用一个全新的方法，将艺术融入到真正的当地市场与国际市场的结构关系中。选择上海，是基于其不仅是中国通向世界的传统大门，而且在全球化经济高度发展的今天，上海在国际经济、文化领域里扮演着日益重要的角色，并逐渐成为亚太地区经济、文化和高级生活方式的新核心。上海是东、西文化的交合点，是展示国际文化的新舞台。

ShContemporary上海艺术博览会国际当代艺术展的举办，亚洲最终将迎来覆盖整个亚太区的国际顶尖艺术展，为全球艺术市场提供一个独特的机遇。 第一届将于2007年9月6-9日在上海举办，开幕式和预览于9月5日晚举行。

ShContemporary由上海市国际文化传播协会、中国最具影响力的三大艺术展之一的上海艺术博览会组委会、东上海国际文化影视集团，联袂欧洲会展巨头----意大利博罗尼亚展览集团共同主办。强强合作，共同致力于促进东、西方艺术体系的交融，联手打造亚太地区乃至全球当代艺术展会的旗舰。

博罗尼亚展览集团：是主办大型高品质生活方式展会的资深专家，在美国和俄罗斯有分支机构，特别在中国，该集团已成为了主要外方展会主办者之一。博罗尼亚展览集团作为Arte Fiera Bologna博罗尼亚艺术博览会--意大利最重要艺术展的所有者和主办者，具备了举办和操作顶尖艺术展的经验和技能。

为确保ShContemporary的成功，博罗尼亚展览集团还特别邀请与其并称现代当代艺术领域、国际艺术展览界以及商业展会的三大顶尖专家的另外两位非常重要的人物：Lorenzo A. Rudolf先生和Pierre Huber先生共同参与上海艺术博览会国际当代艺术展。

Lorenzo A. Rudolf：曾任巴塞尔艺术展1991-2000年的总监，成功将该展会领入世界顶级艺术展的行列，引入了象Art Statements和Art Unlimited这样的新平台，随后创建了巴塞尔迈阿密海滩艺术博览会。在2000-2003年担任法兰克福书展总监期间，将该展会发展成为全球出版业和文学书籍业的顶级展览。在2003-2005年担任国际艺术博览会（IFAE）副主席期间，他创立了棕榈海滩博览会并将其发展成为美国最高级的精美艺术及古董展。

Pierre Huber: 重要的世界知名的艺术经纪人(日内瓦当代艺术画廊Art & Public的所有者)和艺术收藏家，以发掘和支持新兴艺术家著称，在亚洲有着很高的声誉，他是最早将中国和印度当代艺术家介绍给国际艺术市场的几位商人之一。在90年代，作为瑞士顶级活动战略委员会的重要成员，他与Lorenzo A. Rudolf先生共同成功地开创了巴塞尔艺术展的新的成功理念和战略。

享有盛誉的场馆

ShContemporary将在上海展览中心举办。上海展览中心是一座苏式风格的老建筑，建成于20世纪50年代中期，地处市中心，临近上海美术馆（上海双年展展馆）和上海当代艺术馆（MOCA）。展会将由国际著名的博物馆展览的建筑师负责设计和搭建。便利的交通、独特的设计、专业的设施，以及周边林立的高级餐厅和酒吧，完全符合展会最高的规格和标准。

ShContemporary将成为吸引收藏家，并向他们展现最佳的和最有趣的亚太艺术的聚集地；同时也向本地观众展示最重要的和最高质量的西方艺术家的作品精粹，成为连接东西方艺术的独特平台，促进东、西方艺术体系的新交融。

新的展览

ShContemporary立志注重高水准和独特性。参展艺术家和艺术品的高质量，是建立在对领先于时尚和市场趋势的卓越创意的基础上筛选。目的之一- 侧重于展示有着超越时尚和市场需求的具备卓越创意的高品质艺术作品。为确保展会独特性和专业性，ShContemporary将采取只凭邀请函参展和入场，同时在数量上也有一定限制：来自亚太地区（50%—60%）；来自于欧洲及美洲（40%—50%）；被邀的画廊和艺术经纪人最多不超过120家。

ShContemporary承诺将为国际顶级画廊和收藏家开启通往未来最重要市场之一的大门，也为亚太区画廊和收藏家打开通往国际市场的大门。展会将成为世界收藏精英的目的地——为其提供全新的探索领域，以及为未来潜在的亚洲收藏新生代提供相遇的集合点。

新兴艺术、艺术家和艺术品

ShContemporary除了汇集最重要的亚洲艺术家和他们的作品，两个由Pierre Hubber策划和主持的特殊平台将带给展会特殊的亮点和惊喜：

杰出艺术家将有15位左右经过精心筛选的、最重要和最具代表性的当代艺术大家（主要来自亚太地区），以独特的表现手法和创造性的方式来诠释和展现其最新的作品。

杰出的发现将为新兴的亚太区未知名艺术家提供首次向国际艺术界展示作品的机会，有20个令人兴奋的展示和方案。这个不寻常的当代艺术展经验是通过在整个亚太地区精准的调查研究项目来取得的，将新一代艺术家融入世界当代艺术体系，探索新的主题。

2007 Shanghai Art Fair International Art Exhibition

ShContemporary 2007 - A new match point for the art scene comes from Asia. The art world has a new destination on its 2007 agenda. ShContemporary the new Asian Pacific contemporary art fair, represents a unique opportunity for the global art market. It will inaugurate the first edition in Shanghai from 6th to 9th September 2007.

Created by a strong partnership of three leading experts in the field: Lorenzo A. Rudolf, former director of Art Basel, Pierre Huber, well known Swiss art dealer and collector, and BolognaFiere Spa, presided by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, and organized in cooperation with the city of Shanghai, ShContemporary promises to open new doors for top international galleries and collectors in one of the most important future markets.

ShContemporary will define a new approach to art into a real structural relationship between the local context and the international market. The fair will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, located in the centre of the city. Shanghai, designated the traditional gate to China, has been chosen due to its main role as the economic, lifestyle and cultural core of the Asian Pacific area. The city is a match point between Eastern and Western cultures and establishes a framework for a new stage on which the international cultural scene can unfold.

ShContemporary will become a destination among the elite of the world’s art collectors - providing a new territory of discovery for them - as well as offering a point of encounter for potentially new collectors, the leading future Asian generation.

New Matchpoint

The art world has a new destination on its 2007 agenda. ShContemporary the new Asian Pacific contemporary art fair, representing a unique challenge for the global art market, will inaugurate its first edition in Shanghai from 6th to 9th September 2007.

The combination of explosive growth among the wealthy Asian upper and middle class and the recent trends towards Asian contemporary art (Japan, China, India, etc.) have created a market searching for development and enlargement of offer within the Asian Pacific geographical area. ShContemporary aims to create a key opportunity for networking the best galleries, dealers, artists, collectors, professionals and art enthusiasts in the Asian Pacific and the top international areas as well as developing and stimulating existing and emerging markets, enabling new interaction and exchange between the Asian and the Western art scene.

Created by a strong partnership of three leading experts in the field of modern and contemporary art, international art fairs as well as trade show business ShContemporary will be realized by:

BolognaFiere spa, organizing company: As one of Europe’s leading fair organizers, presided by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo (president Italian industries’ association, president FIAT, president Ferrari), it is a highly reputed expert in large scale exclusive lifestyle fairs with branches in the United States, Russia and, particularly China where it has become one of the main foreign trade show organizers. As owner and organizer of Arte Fiera Bologna, the most important modern and contemporary art show in Italy, it has all the operational know how and infrastructure to run a top art fair. In particular, the organization in China of SH Contemporary will be directed and guaranteed by special BolognaFiere offices in Shanghai.

Lorenzo A. Rudolf, fair director: As director of Art Basel from 1991 to 2000, he transformed the event into the leading art fair in the world, introduced new platforms like Art Statements and Art Unlimited and subsequently invented and initiated Art Basel Miami Beach. As director of the Frankfurt Book Fair from 2000 to 2002, he headed the leading trade show for the global publishing industry and organized literature and book events worldwide. As vice president of International Fine Art Expositions (IFAE) from 2003 to 2005, he created Palm Beach! and developed it into the most exclusive fine art & antiques show in America.

Pierre Huber, creative director: As important and worldwide-known art dealer (owner of the modern and contemporary art gallery art & public in Geneva) and art collector he is renowned as engaged discoverer and supporter of new artists, especially also from Asia, where he has a high reputation; he was one of the very first art dealers introducing contemporary Chinese and Indian artists to the international art market. In the nineties, as leading member of the strategic committee of Art Basel, he developed together with Lorenzo A. Rudolf the successful concept and strategy for the Swiss top event.

ShContemporary is promoted by Shanghai International Cultural Communication Association, co-organized by Shanghai Art Fair Organization Committee, Eastern Shanghai International Culture Film & Television Group and Bologna Fiere Group.

Prestigious Place

ShContemporary will be held at the prestigious Shanghai Exhibition Center, a historical monument – constructed in the late 1940’s it was a gift by Stalin to Mao Tse Tung – located in the centre of the city, within walking distance to many hotels and restaurants, close to the Shanghai Art Museum (also the venue of the Shanghai Biennale) and MOCA, the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art. Shanghai, designated the traditional gate to China, has been chosen due to its main role as the economic, lifestyle and cultural core of the Asian Pacific area. The city is a match point between Eastern and Western cultures and establishes a framework for a new stage on which the international cultural scene can unfold.

New fair

ShContemporary deliberately focuses on high quality and exclusivity. The high quality of the artists and the art works presented, selected on the basis of excellent creative quality that goes beyond fashion and market trends. The exclusivity of a fair with participation based upon invitation only, as well as with a limited number; maximum 120 selected exhibiting galleries and art dealers from the Asian Pacific area (50% to 60%) and from Europe and America (40% to 50%).

ShContemporary promises to open new doors: for international galleries and collectors to one of the most important future markets and vice-versa for Asian Pacific galleries and collectors to the international market. The fair will become a destination among the elite of the world’s art collectors - providing a new territory of discovery for them – as well as offering a point of encounter for potentially new collectors, the leading future Asian generation. A special program for art collectors and VIPs will be scheduled during the fair.

New art, artists and artworks

The prime focus of ShContemporary is the exhibiting artists and their works. Therefore, alongside the selected artists presented by the invited Asian Pacific and international galleries and art dealers, two special platforms curated by Pierre Huber will give a very special focus on this matter:

Best of Artists will show some of the most important contemporary artists, mainly from the Asian Pacific area, with special presentations and projects created exclusively for the fair.

Best of Discoveries will give emerging Asian Pacific artists to show their work to the international art scene for the first time. This unusual contemporary art fair experience will be the result of an accurate research project throughout the Asian Pacific area, gathering a new generation of artists into the realm of global contemporary art system, exploring different issues and themes.

Preview

ShContemporary will define a new approach to art into a real structural relationship between the local context and the international market. It is the perfect response to the demands of the developing art market. The skyline of Shanghai will be drawn by a creative artistic choreography of parallel events running during the art fair. Visitors will be involved in the innovative experience of this new dynamic cultural milieu.
